Dr. Poker Boyd

Dr. Boyd is a career youth ministry staffer and equipper. He has served First Baptist Churches of Panama City, Oviedo, and Tallahassee, Florida as Student Minister. He is currently teaching Youth Ministry as an Adjunct Professor at the Baptist College of Florida. Poker is also a full-time Youth Ministry Consultant as the Founder of Student Ministry Essentials, equipping local churches and youth pastors to effectively carry out the Great Commission to teenagers and families. 

Poker is married to Julie, parents of two sons (both married and in ministry), and the proud grandparents of five. He serves New Hope as our Youth Ministry Consultant, equipping students and leaders to fulfil our mission to reach and disciple this and emerging generations in Christ. 

Not only does Poker have a ton of academic and ministry credentials, he is also an avid outdoorsman and enjoys hunting.
